Macaca mulatta, also known as macaques and yellow monkey, mainly inhabit subtropical forests, widely distributed in Pu'er Sun River National Park. The macaca mulatta is relatively small with bony cheeks. Most macaques have greyish yellow or greyish brown fur, and move slowly. They are lively and active and can swim. They like imitating human actions. Their food includes leaves, twigs and vegetables, as well as birds, birds' eggs, worms, ants and various insects. The vast subtropical forests in the scenic area provide a good living environment for macaques, and become a paradise for them.
